Dr. Élie Rizkallah

Psychologist

A member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ), the College of Psychologists of Ontario (OPO), and the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Université de Montréal in 2006. He went on to complete a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences (Psychiatric Sciences option) in 2012, followed by a graduate diploma in Insurance and Expert Medicine in 2013. After completing his Doctorate in Psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal, he pursued postdoctoral studies in addiction psychiatry from 2019 to 2022. Élie has also completed several additional trainings on key psychometric tests and mental health assessment tools.

Over the years, he has worked with a diverse clientele, which has allowed him to develop expertise in the treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, addictive disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and personality disorders.

Using a cognitive-behavioral approach, he integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) along with other therapeutic models into an adaptive and integrative framework tailored to each client’s needs.

In addition to his clinical work, he has contributed to numerous research projects and published in several scientific journals. He is also active in academia and frequently presents at national and international conferences.

He is passionate about science communication and has delivered numerous public lectures across Québec on the effects of psychoactive substances and mental health. He is also deeply involved as a volunteer with various organizations that support individuals struggling with addiction and other mental health challenges.
