Dr. Frédéric Poulin MD, FRCPC

Cardiologist

He primarily practices at Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal.

He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Université de Montréal in 2004. He then completed his residencies in internal medicine and cardiology, also at the Université de Montréal, where he additionally obtained a master’s degree in biomedical sciences with a research focus in 2012. He later completed a clinical cardiology (echocardiography) fellowship followed by a research fellowship in echocardiography at the University of Toronto.

Specialized in cardiac ultrasound, he carries out his main duties in the echocardiography lab, the valvular heart disease clinic, the heart failure clinic, the coronary care unit, and in general cardiology.

He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Université de Montréal, where he supervises and teaches medical students and cardiology residents.

In addition to his clinical and teaching responsibilities, he is heavily involved in research and has published his work in several leading scientific journals. His research interests include functional imaging in echocardiography, peri-procedural ultrasound evaluation of transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), cardio-oncology, and Fabry disease.
