Dr. Rémi Kouz MD, CM, MSC

Cardiologist

He primarily practices at Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal.

A graduate of McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine in 2009, he began his internal medicine residency at the Université de Montréal, where he also completed his specialization in adult cardiology. During his residency, he pursued his interest in research by earning a master’s degree in biomedical sciences. After additional training in interventional cardiology at the Université de Montréal (CHUM and the Montreal Heart Institute), he further refined his expertise in coronary and structural interventions at New York Presbyterian Hospital, affiliated with Columbia University.

He is the Director of the Structural Interventions Program at Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal. In addition to his clinical practice, he is a clinical associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal, where he teaches medical students, residents, and clinical fellows, both in the clinic and through lectures.

He is deeply involved in clinical research at the CIUSSS du Nord-de-l’Île-de-Montréal / Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal, serving as principal investigator for various national and international studies in coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and cardiovascular prevention. He has published numerous articles in renowned scientific journals (link to articles coming soon), and has presented his work multiple times at national and international medical conferences. He is also very active as a speaker, contributing to the ongoing education of both general practitioners and specialists.

Frequently exposed to advanced and acute cardiovascular conditions in his hospital-based practice, he strongly believes in the power of prevention and the benefits of healthy lifestyle habits. A lover of scientific literature and passionate about cardiology, he is committed to guiding his patients and hopes to have an immediate and positive impact on their clinical journey.
