Mrs Katy Davar

Psychologist

A member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec, she is a graduate of Université Laval, where she was trained in the integrative psychodynamic approach. She specializes in personality psychology as well as couples therapy.

She has clinical experience in academic, hospital/psychiatric, and private practice settings. She provides individual psychotherapy for medium- and long-term treatment.

She works with individuals experiencing depression, stress, or adjustment issues, as well as those facing relational difficulties in professional or romantic contexts (conflicts, intimacy, emotion regulation, impulsivity). She supports individuals in clarifying their needs and expressing their emotions in order to gain better self-understanding, restore confidence in their abilities, and tap into their personal strengths.

She provides professional support during challenging life transitions, such as personal or family crises, relationship difficulties, bereavement, separation, divorce, or illness. She also assists individuals facing work-related issues, burnout, workplace conflicts, career transitions or reorientations, and retirement. Additionally, she offers coaching to loved ones of individuals with personality disorders.

She practices couples therapy, which—depending on the goals and context—may focus on conflict resolution and relationship continuity, short-term intervention to support decision-making about the relationship’s future, or therapy centered on the dissolution of the union.
